And Quietude
And Quietude is a book about the paradoxes of life, authored by Faye Yao, and translated by Yě Yě.
Written over a decade, this collection of poems explores seemingly contradictory yet intertwined themes from a personal perspective: silence and speech, loneliness and companionship, self and true self, finite and infinite, life and death, ego and all beings, nothingness and meaning... Inspired by the most ordinary things in daily life, the author embarks on a philosophical and poetic journey through meticulous observation and nuanced prose.
Chinese originals and English translations appear on facing pages.
