Jeremy Halvard Prynne, known as J. H. Prynne, was born in Kent, England. He was closely associated with the British Poetry Revival (innovative late-modernist poetry), and was one of the key figures in the Cambridge group. He had authored numerous poetry collections, including Hadn’t Yet Bitten (2023), Not Ice Novice (2022), Efflux Reference (2021), Squeezed White Noise (2020), Each to Each (2017), To Pollen (2006), Triodes (1999), Her Weasels Wild Returning (1993), Poems (1982), The White Stones (1969), Day Light Songs (1968), and Force of Circumstance (1962), among many others.
